My writing course

Step 1
Each week, I will post a writing task from either TOEFL or IELTS. You can either submit a response to the task or submit your own writing (e.g. an except from an essay).
I will combine the submissions into a single document, which I will then proofread. This will usually take two days.

Step 2
You will receive three documents: Doc 1.1, Doc 1.2, and Doc 2. Doc 1.1 is the original. Doc 1.2 is the same as Doc 1.1 but includes colour-coded highlights for the mistakes (structural, nominal, tense, word choice, and miscellaneous). Doc 2 includes all my corrections and comments (explaining the corrections).
If you are a new student or wish to focus on a particular area of grammar, I recommend starting with Doc 1.2 (instead of Doc 1.1). I also recommend reviewing Doc 1 before Doc 2.

Step 3
Your first task is to edit Doc 1 to the best of your ability. I recommend editing as you read through the document, which should only be done once or twice. You should turn on 'track changes' while editing.
Your second task is to compare your edited Doc 1 with Doc 2. I recommend focusing on only 3 or 4 of the differences. Do your best to understand why these corrections were made. Read the explanation and recommended article. If you are struggling to understand, remember that I am here to answer your questions.
